NEW DELHI: Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is expected to address the raging issue of the Indo-China standoff at the Line Of Actual Control (LAC), in Parliament today. The Defence Minister is likely to deliver the address at around 3 pm in the lower house of the Indian Parliament- Lok Sabha. The tensions between both nations ensued in the standoff are on the high ever since the Chinese show of violation of agreements and show of aggression in the Galwan Valley in June 15, when 20 Indian army personnel lost their lives, with the causalities of the Chinese unreported. Repeated Chinese transgressions into Indian territory has further worsened the situation on the borders. Although the Defence and Foreign ministers of both countries have met in the past few weeks on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and have formulated a 5-point framework to solve the issue, the situation continues to be tense.

The matter was also raised in the Business Advisory Meeting to decide upon agendas to be discussed in the Parliament, held a day prior to the commencement of the Monsoon session. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi had said keeping in mind the "sensitivities of the situation, and the strategic points", the government will take a decision. The leaders, he had said, would be briefed at a meeting on Tuesday.
